About the CPC Calculator

CPC Calculator works out cost per click, the clicks a budget will buy, or the spend a click target implies. It is the simplest advertising metric and the one most often quoted in isolation, which is why the page also shows what each click is actually worth.

The profit-per-click figure is the one that decides whether a campaign is worth running. Enter the conversions and the value of a conversion and it works out the average value of a click, then subtracts what you paid for it. A positive number means the campaign makes money at this CPC; a negative one means it does not, however good the click volume looks.

Cost per click is a bidding outcome, not a fixed price. It moves with competition, quality scores, placement and time of day, so a CPC calculated from last month's spend is a historical average rather than a rate you can rely on next month.

This is arithmetic, not financial advice. It tells you what the numbers do; it cannot tell you whether a decision is right for your circumstances. Fees, taxes and local rules vary, so check anything that matters against the actual offer and speak to someone qualified before committing.

Everything is worked out inside your browser. Nothing you enter is uploaded, logged or stored, which matters for the financial calculators in particular: the figures you put into them are nobody else's business.

Frequently asked questions

What is a good CPC?

One below the value of a click to you. That depends entirely on your conversion rate and margin, which is why the profit-per-click figure matters more than the CPC itself.

How do CPC and CPM relate?

CPC is CPM divided by the click-through rate, times a tenth. A 5 CPM at a 1% click-through rate is a 0.50 CPC.

Why does my CPC keep changing?

Because it is set by auction. Competitor bids, your ad quality, the placement and the time of day all move it.
