Advertising disclosure

How this site is paid for, and the rules the advertising follows.

Last updated: 2026-10-14

This page says plainly how FreeToolStation is paid for, because you are entitled to know that before you decide how much to trust what you read here.

How the site makes money

Advertising, and nothing else. The 330 tools are free and will stay free. There is no paid tier, no account, no newsletter to harvest your address, and nothing on the site is withheld until you pay.

Where the adverts are

Advertising appears in fixed, clearly labelled areas: up to five on a page, made up of a banner near the top on pages that have one, two or three blocks spaced through the written content, one in the sidebar on wide screens, and one below the content. Those areas are the same on every page of a given type, and the space for them is reserved in the layout, so nothing shifts under your finger as a page loads.

What we will not do with adverts

  • Never beside the controls. No advert is placed next to a Copy, Download, Convert or Clear button where a mis-tap would land on it. The gap between every advert and the nearest button is measured in a real browser as part of our release checks, at both phone and desktop widths; across every slot measured the smallest gap is 166 pixels on a desktop and 112 pixels on a phone.
  • Never disguised. An advert is never styled to look like a button, a download link, a tool result or part of the navigation.
  • Never in the way. No pop-ups over the content, no interstitial you have to dismiss before using a tool, no advert that follows you down the page on a phone.
  • Never automatic placement. Advertising systems offer to insert adverts wherever an algorithm thinks they will earn most, including against the buttons. That option is deliberately switched off.

What advertising does not buy

No advertiser pays for a mention in the written content, for a tool to be built, or for a place in the tool listings. Nothing on this site is sponsored content. If that ever changes, any paid placement will be labelled as such on the page it appears on, and this section will be rewritten to describe the arrangement.

Affiliate links

There are none at present. If affiliate links are added, they will carry rel="sponsored" in the markup, be disclosed on the page that holds them, and be listed here.

Your data and advertisers

Nothing you type into a tool is shared with an advertiser, because the tools run on your device and we never receive it. What advertising cookies collect is a separate matter, set out in the cookie policy and the privacy policy.

Telling us an advert is wrong

Advertising is chosen by an automated system, so an advert we would not have chosen can appear. If you see one that is offensive, misleading or malicious, send the page address and a screenshot to hello@freetoolstation.org and we will block it.
