Conversion Rate Calculator turns visitors and conversions into a rate, and then into money. The rate itself is a division; what makes it useful is seeing what a change in it is worth on your existing traffic, which is the comparison that decides whether optimisation work is worth doing.
The uplift figure is expressed as a relative change, because that is how test results are reported. Moving from 3 per cent to 4 per cent is a one percentage point gain and a 33 per cent uplift, and those two numbers sound very different in a report. Both are shown so neither can be mistaken for the other.
The table runs several rates against your traffic so the shape of the opportunity is visible. On high-value conversions a fractional improvement is worth more than a large increase in traffic, which is the usual argument for working on the funnel before buying more visitors.
This is arithmetic, not financial advice. It tells you what the numbers do; it cannot tell you whether a decision is right for your circumstances. Fees, taxes and local rules vary, so check anything that matters against the actual offer and speak to someone qualified before committing.
Everything is worked out inside your browser. Nothing you enter is uploaded, logged or stored, which matters for the financial calculators in particular: the figures you put into them are nobody else's business.
The conversion rate calculator is used by writers, developers, students, marketers and anyone else who needs the job done once without installing software. Common cases include:
Be consistent, and say which. Sessions are usually more numerous than visitors, so a rate calculated on sessions is lower. Mixing the two produces a figure that means nothing.
It depends on the industry, the traffic source and what counts as a conversion. Your own trend over time is far more informative than a benchmark from somebody else's business.
Both are shown. Three per cent to four per cent is one percentage point and a 33% uplift; reporting the second without saying so overstates the change.
