Every image tool here works on your photo inside the browser tab using the canvas API. The file is never uploaded, which has two consequences worth knowing: there is no waiting for an upload and a download, and the work is limited by your own device rather than by a queue. A large photo on a phone will take a moment.
The image compressor re-encodes a photo at a quality you choose and shows the size saved before you download. The image resizer changes the pixel dimensions, which is usually the bigger win: a 4000px photo displayed at 800px is wasting about 96% of its data.
There is a page for each common direction -- JPG to PNG, PNG to JPG, JPG to WebP, WebP to JPG and the rest -- plus a general image converter. WebP is typically 25-35% smaller than JPG at the same visible quality and is supported by every current browser.
The image cropper trims to a selection or a fixed ratio, the favicon generator produces the icon sizes a site needs, the SVG to PNG converter rasterises vector art at any size, and the EXIF viewer shows the camera settings and any GPS location stored in a photo, which is worth checking before sharing one.
Every tool in this category, in alphabetical order.
No. Images are processed by JavaScript in your own browser using the canvas API. The file never leaves your device, which is why these tools work with the connection dropped.
PNG is lossless, so it cannot discard the detail JPG already threw away. Converting a photo from JPG to PNG almost always makes the file bigger. Use PNG for graphics with flat colour and sharp edges, JPG or WebP for photographs.
Only your device's memory. Very large images, above roughly 30 megapixels, may be slow on a phone and can fail if memory runs out.
No. Compression changes the encoding quality at the same pixel size. To change dimensions, use the resizer -- and for web use, resizing first then compressing gives the smallest file.
