Final Grade Calculator
The final exam mark needed to reach a target grade.
Every assignment and its weight into one course grade.
One per line. Leave the score blank for anything not marked yet.
| Item | Score | Percent | Weight | Contribution |

Semester Grade Calculator builds a course grade out of every piece of assessment and its weight. Each line carries the name, the score, what it was out of, and the percentage of the course it is worth. Scores do not need to be out of 100 -- a quiz marked out of 20 is converted before it is weighted, which is where hand calculations usually go wrong.
Unmarked work is handled deliberately. Leave the score blank and the item drops out of the grade so far, which then reports your average across what has actually been marked rather than treating the ungraded final as a zero. The same item is counted at full marks for the best possible figure, so the two numbers bracket where you can still finish.
The contribution column is the one to read when deciding where to put your effort. It shows how many points of the final grade each item has delivered, so a 20% project scored at 88 contributes 17.6 points. Comparing that against the weight still outstanding tells you what is worth revising and what is already settled.
The page shows its working, not just its answer. Where there is a formula it is printed with your own numbers substituted in, so you can check the result rather than take it on trust -- which is the difference between a calculator you can use for something that matters and one you cannot.
Everything runs inside your browser. What you type is never uploaded, never logged and never stored, and the calculator keeps working if your connection drops after the page has loaded.
Looking for something this does not cover? FreeToolsHub.org is another hub of free online tools that need no account, and it is worth a look if semester grade calculator is only part of what you are working on.
The semester grade calculator is used by writers, developers, students, marketers and anyone else who needs the job done once without installing software. Common cases include:
Name, score, out of, weight -- four comma-separated fields. "Quiz 1, 17, 20, 10" is a quiz scored 17 out of 20, worth 10% of the course.
Leave the score field empty but keep the commas. It will be excluded from the current grade and included in the best possible figure.
Not for the maths to work, but the calculator says so if they do not, because a total that is not 100 usually means a line is missing.
Because unmarked items are excluded rather than counted as zero. The best possible figure shows the optimistic end, and the outstanding weight shows how much can still move.
If the semester grade calculator is not quite what you need, these other free tools solve closely related problems, and there are 8 more in education calculators.
