Average Calculator
Paste any list of numbers and get the full set of summary statistics.
Mean, median, mode and range from any list of numbers.
Commas, spaces, tabs or new lines all work, so a spreadsheet column pastes straight in.

Mean Median Mode Calculator gives the three averages and the spread measures around them from any list of numbers. Values can be separated by commas, spaces, tabs or new lines, so a column copied out of a spreadsheet pastes in without reformatting.
The three averages answer different questions, and the gap between the mean and the median is the quickest diagnostic a data set offers. When they are close, the data is roughly symmetric and the mean is a fair summary. When they diverge, the data is skewed and the mean is being dragged by extreme values -- which is why median income is reported rather than mean income.
The mode is reported as 'none' when nothing repeats, rather than invented. Where several values tie for most frequent, all of them are listed: a data set can genuinely be bimodal, and hiding that behind a single figure loses the most interesting thing about it.
The page shows its working, not just its answer. Where there is a formula it is printed with your own numbers substituted in, so you can check the result rather than take it on trust -- which is the difference between a calculator you can use for something that matters and one you cannot.
Everything runs inside your browser. What you type is never uploaded, never logged and never stored, and the calculator keeps working if your connection drops after the page has loaded.
The mean median mode calculator is used by writers, developers, students, marketers and anyone else who needs the job done once without installing software. Common cases include:
Then no value repeats, and the calculator says so rather than picking one arbitrarily. A data set with no repeats has no mode.
The median for skewed data, the mean for symmetric data, and the mode when you care about the most common category. Reporting the mean and the median together is often the most honest choice.
By linear interpolation between the closest ranks, which is the method spreadsheets use for PERCENTILE.INC. Other conventions exist and give slightly different answers on small samples.
If the mean median mode calculator is not quite what you need, these other free tools solve closely related problems, and there are 13 more in statistics calculators.
